Miss USA

Just in case you missed the Miss USA Pageant, Penelepe won.
What, you don't use your eyeshadow to make a gorgeous unabrow? Well you should. She loves this makeup, and as you can see, she puts it everywhere! For Christmas (or her birthday) Penelepe received this beautiful makeup. After she puts it on, Violette is covered in glitter and is sticky.

Rain Forest

For Oliver's spring break we took a trip to the rain forest. It was a beautiful day, and I think all the kids on spring break were there that day!

Oliver said the zoo is kind of like an I Spy game.

We HAD to go see the alligators first.

Surprise!

Happy Birthday Rozannah! We had a little surprise party for Rozannah with a couple of friends. She turned sweet sixteen (plus a couple years). It was a beautiful snowy April day - I hope when she made her wish - that is was for spring to be here!

Her secret garden cake - that I spent way too much time on - but it was so fun I couldn't pull myself away. Ryan helped a lot, all the CUTE flowers he did! Most of the flowers were made out of tootsie rolls. The bird bath was salt water taffy, which we learned is too soft and kept falling over. Penelepe helped with the pretzel fence, and as it was half way up she said, "Mom this looks just like a fence!"

New Conference Tradition

My kids actually listened to both sessions of conference today! I can't remember where I first learned about this game, maybe sugardoodle, the Friend, or a friend's blog, but it was miraculous for Oliver and Penelepe.
We had a list of words that we would hear during the talks - like love, spirit, missionary, temple, faith, prayer, etc. Five words at a time for the five treats and they would change for each speaker. The kids listened really hard to get their treats. I was afraid it might be way too much candy and sugar, but for the first session they had only about 10 m&ms. (I cheated a couple of times, like the talk on the temple, I made sure for the word temple, which was said about 77 times, we got cheerios). It was not the most spiritual conference ever for us, but at least the children participated and we ALL enjoyed it, and gained both spiritually and physically.
