My Addiction

I must admit that I am addicted to all the crafting blogs out there. I love smart creative people, and then when they share their adorable ideas and add a tutorial - I LOVE them even more. I'm addicted.

This project started out by being a pair of leggings for Penelepe from an old shirt that Rozannah rescued from the Salvation Army bag (which originally I planned on making beanies with several months ago).

After the leggings were done I had enough sleeve material left - so I made matching fingerless gloves. Then I hemmed up the sides of the shirt and sleeves to make a dress. It went really fast and was so easy. Not bad for an old shirt.

This picture was taken on Ryan's birthday it was so sunny! Penelepe couldn't look at me it was so bright!

I told Rozannah that our Mom made Violette's dress for Aunt Fur Fur's wedding. I'm such a liar! I noticed the tag when I changed Violette's outfit! I still love that white little dress and I swear it was either Rozannah's or Rebekah's. Right Mom?

I have no idea what sign she is flashing there.

Violette was so mad when I took Penelepe's picture - I thought she wanted to be on the couch with Penelepe. Nope, she really wanted the leggings.

She wore them the rest of the day. I better go make her a pair now.

Birthday Boy

He finally got his rally car he has been wanting (well almost). Ryan's best gift (in his wife's opinion) was the sunshine. It was such a beautiful day! We almost forgot what the sun felt like. He also got a nice nap for his birthday - what more could you ask for?
(As for the cake, next time I make the cake the day before I need to remember not to add the tootsie rolls until the day of the party - they started melting (which really I didn't care about because it was so nice and warm! We'll take sun and melting windows any day!)
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI hope you are having fun in the land down under!

First Hot Fudge Sundae

Happy Valentines

Who doesn't love chocolate covered strawberries? I decorated the fabulous strawberries and one had R + D on it (just adorable I know). Oliver could not figure out who the R and D stood for. He asked all day long who it was, and finally came to the conclusion that it must be for Rueben and Danete, our next door neighbors. I just laughed, silly boy (and our neighbors are Rueben and Janete ).

We heart treats way too much here.

On Sundays after having our nice big meal for lunch, dinners are always hard for me to get enthusiastic about. I asked Ryan what he was making for our Valentine dinner and he said, "What? I didn't know you wanted me to make the dinner." Oliver then quickly said, "Dad it's o.k. we can make Peanut Butter and Honey sandwiches and cut them out with the heart cookie cutter!" He may be silly at times, but he can also be romantic.

Time Line

The first graders decorated the halls at school with their time lines. Making this poster was fun, Oliver was such a good little boy (not that he's still not), but he has always been a sweet boy. My favorite phrase that Oliver said all the time when he was about three was, "Here I am!". He would say that whenever we went to the park or went over to a friends, like everyone was just Waiting and Waiting for him.

Oliver made these Dinos awhile ago, with help from his Dad.

Caught with her hand in the cookie jar

Lately things have been missing from high places in the house,or someone got into something they shouldn't have. Of course, being the youngest, Violette is always to blame. In the beginning I didn't believe the kids when they said it was her, but now she definitely will be a suspect.

This stool she dragged from the bathroom. She is a mountain goat just like Oliver was - no place is safe.

I thought if we put the chairs down it would deter her from the table, it did for awhile. Now anything she can move and step on becomes a stool. Luckily I have Penelepe to alert me to Everything Violette is doing, yes EVERYTHING, well almost everything.

Lesson learned?

Every Sunday after church, during the ride home, Ryan and I ask the kids what they learned.

Our kids are constantly climbing and jumping on the couches, beds, and chairs. Even with reminders NOT to, they continue. Well tonight as Penelepe was talking to Uncle Simon on the phone she was messing around on the couch and fell off. She got a nice big scratch and big tears to match. I asked her if she learned her lesson and she replied (a little irritated and confused), " yes, I learned about Jesus".

Look alike

The past couple months a couple people have mentioned how much Violette looks like Lorenzo when he was her age. I didn't realize how much they REALLY DO look alike until Penelepe handed me this picture to put in a picture frame. I had to do a double take because the "baby" in the wagon is Lorenzo NOT Violette.
